ACADEMIC AND GENERAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS - 2010

Scholarships applications for 2010 entry to Years 9, 10 and 11 are now invited for both Academic and General Excellence Scholarships.

Scholarships are awarded for the duration of secondary education, providing the student makes satisfactory progress.

 

Both full and partial scholarships will be offered. They may cover up to 100% remission of tuition fees. All other fees and levies are payable. The scholarship does not provide for uniform, books, travel or for optional school activities for which students pay extra charges.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

 

Academic scholarships are available only to students NOT yet attending Moama Anglican Grammar School.

 

Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Principal based on the results of:

  • A Scholarship exam set and marked by Edutest Australia including a creative writing piece.
  • An interview with the Principal and other senior staff (for short-listed applicants only).

GENERAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

 

Students currently attending Moama Anglican Grammar School and students NOT yet attending the school may apply for General Excellence Scholarships.

 

The scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Principal on the following basis:

  • A Scholarship exam set and marked by Edutest Australia including a creative writing piece.
  • An interview with the Principal and other senior staff (for short-listed applicants only).
  • A written submission supported by references. As well as strong academic potential, students must demonstrate a capacity to excel in other areas such as community service, leadership, music, drama, the arts or sport. For students not currently attending Moama Anglican Grammar School, copies of latest school reports must also be included. Please do not send original documents.
  • Supporting documentation must be accompanied by the Application form which can be can be downloaded here or from School website homepage.
  • Consideration will be given to any submissions made confidentially concerning personal financial hardship by an applicant’s family.  Further details may need to be provided if the applicant is short listed for a General Excellence Scholarship.

APPLICATION/REGISTRATION

 

Applicants for both types of scholarship must be registered online through the Edutest website registration page..

Online Registration for scholarships closes on Sunday 3 May 2009.

Registration and payment for both types of scholarships must be made online via the Edutest Website at the time of registration. 

  1. The application fee is $60/student. This fee entitles applicants to register for one or both (were applicable) types of scholarship.
  2. Documentation required for applications for the General Excellence Scholarships must be received at the school by 4.00pm on Tuesday 5 May 2009.

TESTING

Moama Anglican Grammar School scholarship examinations are conducted by EduTest Australia.

Testing will be held at Moama Anglican Grammar School, 2 Kirchhofer Street, Moama on Saturday 9 May 2009.

Please read carefully the 'Scholarship and Entrance Testing Information' on the EduTest Website.

On the day of testing, students are asked to assemble at 8.30am in Room 10. The examination will finish at approximately 11.30am. Morning tea will be provided for the students during a break. Parents are asked to meet the students at Room 10 at the conclusion of the testing.

Morning Tea will be provided for parents at 10.45am in Room 10 and the opportunity exists to take part in a short tour of the School prior to meeting the students back in Room 10 just after 11.30am.

Please bring 2 blue or black pens to the examination. Rulers, mathematical instruments (including calculators, calculator watches), watches that beep, mobile phones, books or papers of any kind are NOT permitted.

 

RESULTS

It is anticipated that all Scholarship results will be available early June 2009.

EduTest has indicated that actual scores (or order of merit) must not be communicated to parents. This is a condition of entering students to this examination.

The names of scholarship winners will not be made public. However, the school may request permission from the family to publicise a particular scholarship winner.

 

THE ROY OGDEN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Moama Anglican Grammar School is delighted to announce the inaugural Roy Ogden Foundation Scholarship has recently been awarded for 2009.  The School acknowledges the generosity of the Roy Ogden Foundation in establishing this Scholarship.
