GENERAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

  • General Excellence Scholarships are open to both current and prospective students in Years 7 – 11 who have achieved to a very high level in their chosen co-curricular endeavours.

In addition to co-curricular achievement, the scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Principal on the following basis:

  • A written submission supported by references. As well as strong academic potential, students must demonstrate a capacity to excel in other areas such as community service, leadership, music, drama, the arts or sport. For students not currently attending Moama Anglican Grammar, copies of latest school reports must also be included. (Please do not send original documents).
  • A Scholarship test set and marked by an external provider.
  • An interview with the Principal and other senior staff (for short-listed applicants only).

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Students with musical talent are invited to apply for a Music Scholarship for entry into Years 7-9 at the School. Music scholarships are only available to students not yet attending Moama Anglican Grammar.

Students who are awarded Music Scholarships are required to an interim review at the end of their first year and then more formal reviews (usually at the end of Years 8 and/or Year 10) as appropriate. Annual renewal of the Music Scholarship is subject to achieving satisfactory results from their reviews which will include an evaluation of a student’s application, effort, attitude and involvement in our music program, including band and ensemble participation, and the School in general.

Auditions will only be held for students who have already received a good pass in AMEB, ANZCA or Suzuki examinations, or have evidence of an equivalent standard.

Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Principal based on the results of:

  • Written reference from the student’s current music tutor.
  • Academic Testing
  • Audition (to be conducted at School on date and time to be confirmed following the Academic Testing).
  • An interview with the Principal and other senior staff (for short-listed applicants only).

With the establishment of a Bursary Fund our School now has available a Bursary enrolment for a student or students not yet attending Moama Anglican Grammar to commence study within Years 9-11 where circumstances of financial hardship also exist.
