What! Only two weeks of term left?

And two short weeks of term at that! We trust everyone enjoyed their long weekend and the cooler weather we’re experiencing at the moment. As always please refer to the calendar on the student and parent portals. You may be interested in this brief rundown of events leading up to our last day of term on Wednesday 23 March.

On Wednesday our Year 9 students, fresh back from their camping experiences in the great southwest region of Victoria, will participate in Real Talk sessions. These sessions are based on our School values and discuss self-worth, beliefs and behaviours and their impact on individual lives and have been really valuable. Meanwhile our Year 8 students continue with their Community Service at Moama Play Park. As previously advised by email, our Parent Teacher Interview sessions will also be held between 4.00 – 8.30pm in the Hall and Primary Classrooms.

Our Open Day is this Thursday with rolling student led school tours from 11am – 2.30pm. With an Information Evening held in the Hall from 7.30-9.00pm for prospective secondary students and families. K-6 Parent Teacher Interviews will be held between 3.30 – 5.30pm this Thursday. Best wishes to our Year 11 students undertaking their English Orals this Thursday!

On Friday our Year 9 and 10 Beacon Leaders will represent our School and attend the Beacon Business Breakfast at Radcliffe’s Echuca (Port 53). The Beacon Foundation aims to assist young people to develop an independent will to achieve personal success for themselves, especially in the areas of further education and employment, and their community.

Excitement is mounting for the Secondary Athletics Carnival on Jack Eddy Oval on Friday. May the best House win!

The last week of term is jammed packed with four Year 11 students participating in Interschool Chess competing against Barham High on Monday. Best of luck to all those involved! Students undertaking Physical Activity and Sports Studies (PASS) will be completing their Bronze Medallion in water safety at Echuca EWMAC pool on Monday. A big thankyou to the Ham family for allowing the Year 11 Agricultural Students to visit their mixed farming operation on Monday, providing a great insight into agricultural technology.

On Tuesday Maia Uys from Year 6 will compete in the Primary Combined Independent Schools (CIS)Swimming Championships in Sydney. Best of luck to Maia!

Tuesday is a Gold Coin Casual Dress Day with funds going towards the Good Friday Appeal, please refer to the information previously advised via email. A big thankyou to Mr Gibbs who has organised an AusKick State Launch for our Year 1 students at Hopwood Park Echuca on Tuesday.

Wednesday 23 March marks the last day of term and in line with our Christian values Easter Chapel Services will be held for both Primary and Secondary students. Our Primary students are eagerly awaiting their Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday afternoon! Happy hunting!
