Our students ride to success

On Thursday five of our students participated in the VSSC in Bendigo. The VSCC comprises of three different events, the Victorian School Cycling Championship Road and the Victorian Interschool Cycling Series BMX and MTB.

Both licensed (racing) and un-licensed (novice) riders participate in cycling races on fun and safe courses across the state. Students from every corner of Victoria have the chance to represent their school and become state champion for respective categories. The events are co-hosted by Cycling Victoria and local cycling clubs, thereby providing a pathway for on-going participation in the sport.

“Midlands” region is held in Bendigo and is the first round of the “road” component.  Five of our students participated in the race category for their age group, the results follow:

Novice U11 Girls
Cara Haley in Year 3 – 2nd

U13 Girls
Jasmine Eddy in Year 6 – 2nd (sprint finish). Jasmine is a top age rider in this category.

U15 Boys
Patrick Eddy in Year 8  – 2nd (sprint finish). Patrick is a top age rider in this category.

U17 Girls
Edie Haley in Year 10 – 3rd . Edie is a top age rider in this category

U17 Boys
Samual Eddy in Year 9 – 9th.  Samual is a bottom aged rider in this category
