As part of our Pastoral Care program and the NSW Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) curriculum for Years 4-6, our School has engaged the services of Family Life – Victoria.
They will deliver age-appropriate information about the physical, social and emotional changes at puberty for each class in Years 4-6. Parents of students in Year 3 have been invited to attend two information sessions.
The first parent session will be conducted on Monday 3 August from 7.00pm – 8.00pm in classrooms SS4 & SS5.
This information session is an opportunity to discuss the rationale and content of above mentioned Family Life programs.
The second parent session, to be conducted on Tuesday 4 August from 7.00pm – 8.00pm in classrooms SS4 & SS5, is a Year 3 – 6 ‘Mother and Daughter Session’.
This session has been designed specifically to help prepare Year 4-6 girls for physical and emotional changes of puberty and menstruation.
Current, age appropriate resources to assist parents to continue conversations with their child will be on display at the Parent Sessions and available for purchase from Family Life.
Should you require further information regarding the information sessions, please consult the Family Life Victoria website or contact Head of Primary School Mr Nigel Rudge. Please RSVP  if you are attending one or both sessions in the Junior Primary Office via e-mail or phone 5480 5950.
Please note: we do aim to offer this program again next year for the Year 4 students, so we ask that Year 3 students do not attend either session.
