Today our Primary students were visited by special guests Meerkat Productions. Meerkat Productions specialise in adapting children’s literature for the stage; creating fresh and vibrant productions which prompt discussion and debate with students. “Our role (and our passion) is to empower children by entertaining them with theatre. We choose to tackle the issues that are difficult for teachers to raise in the classroom. Our shows enable students and teachers to engage in the conversations they must have and our teacher resources enable them to handle the discussion effectively” – Meerkat Productions
Our Kindergarten to Year 3 students saw the adaption of the Pciture book Mr Huff by Anna Walker. The story is about the clouds and the sunshine in each of our lives. Bill is having a bad day and Mr Hiff is following him around and making everything seem difficult.
While our Year 4-6 students saw the adaption of Run Pip Run by J.C. Jones. With her beloved Sully in hospital and the welfare hot on her heels, Pip needs time, money and a place to stay. She’s determined to stay one step ahead of Senior Constable Molly Dunlop! With help from her friends — including a psychic cat and a canine escape artist — Pip needs to stay out of dreaded foster homes so she can help Sully get better.
The students had a fantastic time getting involved with the presentations!
