On Tuesday Mrs Phillips Year 9 Justice, Money and Markets class went on an excursion to the Echuca Magistrate’s Court. The students have been studying the Law in Action throughout Term one, with a specific focus on the Australian Criminal Justice System over the past few weeks. On the excursion the students were able to observe the criminal justice system in action and more specifically the role the police play in bringing charges and the role the judiciary play in determining guilt and sentencing offenders. The students were able to observe a variety of criminal cases and enjoyed discussing the different aspects of the court procedures. Thank you to Mr Romano for accompanying them on this excursion.
